Hello!
I'm Nikki and I am a higher education expert with over twelve years of experience as a professor, academic advisor, and university administrator. I have taught in the Midwest, the Mountain West, and New England at two-year colleges, regional public universities, and highly-selective research institutions. As a result of this experience I have a broad perspective on translating faculty and student needs into well-designed, creative curriculum, navigating institutional change, and creating a welcoming campus for all students.

I have successfully navigated the complex community college, Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD processes. This has driven me to work to demystify the academe and make make research accessible to create a more informed and engaged population. I am particularly interested in leveraging my project management and conscious communication skillset to creating positive change in higher education policy.

I am trained as a social scientist, a sociologist specifically. I have expertise in qualitative interviews, observation, participant observation, and survey research. This has given me an understanding of how to measure efficacy of interventions and initiatives and engage in multi-faceted course, curriculum, and project design. My research focuses on social inequality, social change, and public policy (particularly as it relates to higher education).

My passion is working in one-on-one and small group settings to help people improve their pedagogy, course design, assessment, and policies in order to serve diverse students and feel fulfilled in their work. I want to assist other teacher-scholars and PhDs in turning their academic and employment credentials into purpose-driven work and service.
